BasketJangro has been working hard with its suppliers to ensure that many of its products are specially formulated to have a minimal impact on the environment. This includes manufacturers complying with ISO accreditation and EU regulations, covering biodegradability and protection of the environment; use of recycled materials and consuming less energy during production whilst reducing emissions to air, water and land.
New this year is the Enviro range, covering general commercial cleaning and polishing requirements, hand washing, toilet and washroom cleaning, catering and washing and degreasing duties. All comply with current EU regulations and WEIR, (the Wright Environmental Impact Rating), which assesses the overall environmental impact, taking into account the formulation, manufacture, use and disposal of each product – meaning all are classified as having a low environmental impact rating.
The core source for wood and fibres for our traditional broom and brush range comes from ecologically sustainable forestry such as managed estates, and products are manufactured to ensure a low environmental impact.
See the light with our ever expanding range of light bulbs and lamps that save both energy and money: up to 60 per cent savings can be achieved. Low energy bulbs and lamps last up to eight times longer than a conventional tungsten or fluorescent equivalent. Government tests have proved that 8 out of 10 energy saving lights exceeded the average life stated on packaging – anything from 6,000 to 15,000 hours.
Our range of pure and recycled paper, wiping and cleaning goes from strength to strength. All products meet the ISO 14001 environmental and ISO 9001 quality certificates. The goods have been produced using less material, consuming less energy and providing more cost effective transport solutions.
Degradable refuse sacks and bin liners now form an important part of our waste management range of ecologically-friendly products. Refuse sacks can be supplied in light, medium, heavy or extra-heavy duty thickness and all products degrade naturally at the landfill site.
All laundry powders from Jangro now offer the double benefit of being phosphate free while also utilising packaging that contains 97% recyclable material. The move is seven years ahead of government requirements to ban phosphates by 2015 and it also helps water companies reduce the time and money they spend removing phosphates from dirty water. Bio, Non-Bio and 2-in-1 have significantly improved performance and new fresh fragrances.
